Red Wine & Running?

My friend and old neighbor, Nicki (Nicole M. Miller, Managing Editor at Women’s Running Magazine), is on her way to becoming a certified running coach in San Diego.  She’s so encouraging and kind… but, I know me.  I know I’m not a runner.  I’ve never enjoyed it, my body rejects it; so, naturally I signed up for my first 5k:  The Ultimate Wine Run!  You read that right, a Wine Run!  It’s in two weeks, so I better get training…

The Ultimate Wine Run is a running/charity event, held in beautiful vineyards and venues throughout the country (*I’m doing mine in HOT Arizona, not beautiful wine country.  Why?  I don’t know, I got talked into it.)  The current issue of Women’s Running Magazine features an inspiring, lovely 73-year-old runner on the cover and an article on a runner who happens to be very pregnant.  Thanks a lot for ruining my excuses.

To be continued…

I write about wine as well as the unique stories behind each label. I'm a R.D.H. with an applied science degree in dental hygiene, and have been geeking out about wine for over 20 years. Before obtaining a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) certification, I learned about wine just by trying different styles and regions. I've also worked with a local distributor in wine sales. Wine brings people together and makes the world a smaller, friendlier place... Cheers!
